Louis Pasteur was a famous French biologist. He made medicines for many dangerous diseases. We are getting rid of many diseases because of Pasteur's researches and medicines. Despite being paralyzed, he did not stop his research till the last minute for the people.


Childhood... 

Pasteur was born on December 27, 1822 in France. He is more interested in arts than studies more. He used to show off his talent in painting by making figures of his friends and relatives. Moreover, he has a habit of constantly trying to learn something new. He Loves studying chemistry, physics, mathematics. With the same interest, he became a professor at the University of Strasbourg in 1848. Many experiments were done there and new discoveries were made.


Lots of experiments

In 1864, the silkworm industry in France was declining. They don't know the reason, but all the silkworms used to die due to some disease. Then the silk farmers came to Pasteur not knowing what to do. Pasteur did 2 years of research in microorganisms and studied about Germs were discovered with the help of a microscope. Infected insects and the mulberry leaves they feed on are destroyed and the germs destroyed. You know! Until the 19th century, infections were caused by wind was believed by them, But they are caused by bacteria and microbes are born from one another, Pasteur proved it with his experiments. It is said that due to not washing hands, a lot of microbes get into our body.


Vaccines were made to cure diseases

like cholera, tuberculosis and smallpox. In 1876, the German scientist Robert Koch said that the cause of the fatal anthrax disease was a microorganism. Based on this Pasteur after doing research, it was found that what Robert said was true. Antidote for anthrax invented. Do you know that if a dog bites you, you will get rabies? But Pasteur first collected fluid from the spinal cord of animals to find a cure for this. Later experimented with it in many ways and found the rabies vaccine.

Pasteurization was also invented based on this. Pasteurization is the treatment of milk. Boil milk for 70 minutes to kill bacteria, fungi, protozoa etc. Pathogens are destroyed. They are cooled for 10 minutes and stored in packets. In 1895, Pasteur received the Lieuven Hock Prize, the highest award given to an individual for his work in microbiology. As a scientist and doctor, Pasteur died of a heart attack on September 28, 1895 in France.
